Other team members were associated with a television series that won an Emmy for Visual Effects and helped pioneer CGI Animated Movies.
While pioneering the world of motion capture, some of Motus Digital’s team members created the first fully CGI and fully Motion Captured feature for primetime television for FOX in 1999, utilizing Vicon’s V-8 Motion Capture System.

Crispin Broadhurst, Motion Capture Supervisor, Technical Director
Crispin Broadhurst has been a musician, artist and animator since childhood. His dad (please visit www.FrankBroadhurst.com) was an exceptional artist and illustrator working at McCann Erickson, and Crispin took full advantage of all the art supplies, animation disc and light table in the house growing up. He was making 8mm animated films with clay and plastic army men at age nine, continuing with stop action films through high school. Having a knack for picking up instruments and learning to play them easily, he initially chose a career in music; attending UNT School of Music and becoming an accomplished jazz pianist and session player. Never losing his love of animation and spending all his free time with computers and animation software, he migrated careers to CG. His experience spans commercial broadcast and movie work, from dancing logos to talking animals.
He created the first ever fully mocap and CG music video for Master “P”, and has done mocap and animation work for ID Software as well as several of Midway titles. He also worked on the E3 cinema for Microsoft/Wideload’s “Stubbs the Zombie”, “Pippa Funnel” for Ubisoft (utilizing horse mocap), and has done a wealth of custom rigging and editing. Crispin also supervised mocap sessions, animation, and rigging for Acclaim’s “All Star Baseball” games. His work on “The Night of the Headless Horseman” for FOX in 1999, including facial and horse motion capture, earned him a spot and interview on the Vicon show reel that year.

Tony Cross, MOCAP Animator

Tony began college as an electrical engineering major, but quickly found himself drawn to computer graphics. His unfettered love for videogames, movies and graphic novels led him down the inspiring path of 3D animation. In 2007, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Arts & Technology (ATEC) from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he received an education in animation, computer game development and design, as well as visual arts and digital design. For him, this was a pursuit far more entertaining than studying voltage tolerances and chip design.
During his time at University, Tony focused his efforts in animation and motion capture. His relentless passion in these endeavors led him to freelance opportunities for such companies as 3D Realms, Armor Smith, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Midway Games - all while still in school. Shortly after graduation Tony joined the team at Motus Digital as an animator and MOCAP tech, where his passion for the art and process of animation is reflected through his work.
